Heeeyyy!!! Blogging in Melbourne! Ooooohhh... I LOVE MELBOURNE!!! <333 Lawl.. picked up Anni's habits now. Lawl. Oh,
Anni's a cute Filo gal playin WOW. Yessm she's pretty cool. Anyway, this is about me and Melbourne. Oh i absolutely adore Melbourne even with the freezin temperatures. Actually there's nothing much to do around here, but I just adore Melbourne. It just feels so cool to be here. I kinda regret not taking up the opportunity to study in RMIT. Saw the RMIT building and it looks cool too. The Yarra's absolutely gorgeous, day and night. It's so convenient to get around in with the trams and all. Yeah, it's my last night here in Melbourne and I'll miss it. I think I'll be coming back to visit again. (Pretty soon I hope) Anyway, I arrived in Melbourne last Wed night. Didn't get to meet my WoW friends though. A pity. The first night didn't do much, went to a kebab kiosk to get a (supposedly the best) kebab in Melb cos we were hungry (didn't eat on the flight from Perth) before retiring to Alex's friend's (the name's Su) place. She's living in a pretty upmarket area, in the Docklands, next to the World Trade Centre, Melbourne Convention Centre, and diagonally across from Crown casino and overlooking the Yarra river. (Which pretty much explains the freezing temperature in her house.)
Woke up pretty late the second day, around 3+. By the time we're done, Su's finished work and we kinda waited around for her. She brought us to this pretty cool Korean restaurant called Kimchi Grandma. Never had such nice Korean food before in S'pore. Anyway, after dinner we went to Crown casino. And they checked my passport(photo id) and say i don't look like my photo. I was like 'WTF!!!' but in the end i was let in cos the lady scrutinised my photo and me from head to toe and say i do look abit like my pic. So i went to play the jackpot machines, and got kinda lucky. Started with $1 and won at least $10. Heh, that paid for my tram tickets around city. Too bad for alex, he kinda lost about $4. I'd say it was beginner's luck for me. First time in a casino and first time playing a jackpot machine. They call the jackpot machines here pokies. Kinda funny. Then we went to buy some dessert. Su bought a Mar's bar cheesecake, Alex tried this egg custard thingie (erk!) and I had this thing called a Pavlova (eeeeerrrrrkkkkk!!!!!!! to some people). Anyway, the egg custard thingie was very hard and what Alex describes as 'tasted like breast implants' (like he tasted breast implants before) which brings me to another point. Su was saying that Pringles in Australia makes people fart, and she was going on and on with farts until Alex tried to do the same thing with the breast implants. Ok, next we come to the Pavlova. The pavlova looked like it's made with cream and tasted like cream. Tastes kinda yucky if you don't like cream. But then i finished the damn thing. (Clap clap!! 3 cheers!!). I just googled it and realised it's actually made of egg whites and sugar. Then again, it tastes like cream so i don't really care. After dessert we went to catch Pirate of the Caribbean 2. The ending's a cliffhanger so Disney can make money out of their audiences with Pirates 3.
Anyway, everyday's kinda repetitive so I won't bother to type them in. Anyway, we tried to make dinner for ourselves, so we went grocery shopping. Alex made a steak for me, and boy. I wanted well-done, and i got a piece of rubber. Kinda my fault anyway, I knew well-done was like this. Alex and Su did the cooking, so i did the washing up. Ok, that's cos i can't help them in anyway since i don't know how to cook and stuff, so i can only clean up after them. I did the scouring of the pan pretty well after Alex burnt up the chicken on high heat. The pan ended up pretty clean, thanks to me heh. Oh well, nothing more of interest to blog anymore. I suppose the next time i blog would be back in Singapore. *SOB SOB* I WANNA STAY IN MELBOURNE. One last thing, Australia has this webbie www.lastminute.com.au which we booked our hotel in Sydney with. It has this secret deal that only tells you where you're staying after confirmation of booking. It sounds kinda dodgy but i managed to persuade Alex to take up the offer (since it's cheap and quite highly rated and the other site requires 3 days booking in advance) and landed ourselves a pretty good place to stay in. It's so mysterious and fun to book it. Booking it with totally no idea what you're getting at the end. Weird but fun concept. Heh. I guess that's it for this post.
